Flushing is a city located in Genesee County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 8,348. The city is situated within the area of Flushing Charter Township, but is politically independent.
The Flint River forms most of the southern border of Flushing.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 11.3 km2 (4.3 mi2). 11.2 km2 (4.3 mi2) of it is land and 0.1 km2 (0.04 mi2) of it is water. The total area is 0.92% water.
